Wildlife Observation

In the wintertime, deer will gather and form what is called a deer yard or deer wintering area. The major ones are in La Macaza, Chute-Saint-Philippe and Lac-du-Cerf, with the largest being in Lac des 31 Milles.
Those gatherings make it possible to watch these lovely animals in several places. Since many people in the area also feed them, deer can be seen in the heart of the village of La Macaza, on Route 311 and on Rang 8 in Kiamika, as well as at Grand Lac du Cerf and Lac David in Chute-Saint-Philippe.
